When more complex treatment is needed...
If conservative treatment is not sufficient, our surgeons are available to help with their expertise. Most common procedures are wisdom tooth removal, retained root removal, apicoectomy (root apex removal), periodontal surgery, implantology, soft tissue surgery and histological sampling.
Additional information:
- wisdom tooth removal: symptomatic tooth that has not erupted yet, or its position assumes problems in the future. Procedure is done in local anesthesia and is pain free. Mucosa and bone above the tooth are removed if it is impacted and the wound is then sutured, the sutures are removed after a week.
- apicoectomy: when re-treatment of endodonticaly treated tooth is not possible, because of either complex root canal anatomy, fractured instrument in the canals, resistant bacteria or the tooth is prosthetically restored, a minor surgical procedure is done, where the tooth is preserved and only the infected root apex and adjacent tissue is removed and that space is then overgrown with healthy bone.
- implantology: after prior examination and planning titanium implant is placed under local anesthesia so the procedure is pain free, although some swelling is possible which diminishes in a few days. After 2-3 months when the implant is anchored in the bone, the tooth is prosthetically restored.
